Evening News!

Ok. So several people have been asking about the current situation with Max's fluid build-up around his heart. Sorry that I failed to communicate this earlier today but the traumatic events of the afternoon kind of overshadowed everything else.

Dr. Ross explained to us that due to the fact that Max has had a major operation, there is some of this type of bleeding to be expected. It could be from the bone area of the sternum, some new blood vessels, or just some residual bleeding from the surgery site. He is not overly concerned about the fluid build up and trusts that it will drain on its own. This was all looked at and decided before we moved to the cardiac unit this afternoon. Plus we had another echocardiogram during the afternoon

This evening, Max is in bed and somewhat content. He has shown a few signs of his old self, saying some familiar things, playing with a few toys/books. He also seems somewhat restless and uncomfortable so we have asked for his pain medication to be reassessed. The nurse mentioned that it is currently on the low end so they may look to increase it overnight so that he/we can sleep a little better.

Other than that, nothing new to report. Let's hope and pray for a good night for Max and a bit of rest for us too.

Cam
